Join us October Half Term for this family-friendly event!

Rocks decorated with pictures, colours and messages are being hidden to spread happiness to their finders. These rocks have started to reappear around the world and be passed on for the next person to discover.

Decorate your own rock with creative pictures, colours and messages. Once you’ve decorated it, make someone smile by hiding your rock in our Artists Garden.

This activity takes place between 11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm and is included with your museum admission. There’s no need to book, but please note that spaces are limited.

Be inspired by The BFG in Pictures and Roald Dahl’s imaginative descriptions of dreams to paint your own dream.

Use watercolours to make your dream: all in our magical BFG cave.

Create miniature magical stone paintings with Danish-born artist, Sussi Louise Smith.

Sussi creates colourful designs with the aim of spreading happiness through her depictions of everyday life. As part of the rock painting craze, she will inspire you to create your own stone paintings.
