Visiting York Art Gallery
We are now closed for a major redevelopment until Easter 2015 when we will reopen with 60 per cent more gallery space and a new Centre for British Studio Ceramics.
You can still see our paintings, ceramics and sculpture across the city, region and in London during our closure - more details in York Art Gallery on Tour.
Our contemporary art venue, York St Mary's, will open for a longer season in 2013 with three exhibitions.
Our Events Programme will continue throughout the closure at our other venues.
We will be holding an Open Day on 2 February, 2013, when visitors can look round the empty galleries once all the works of art have been put into storage, before building work begins. More details on our Events page.
