Sashiko Symposium

The Hospitium, Yorkshire Museum Gardens

The museum will host a one-day symposium during which Michele Walker will talk about her three years of fascinating research in Sashiko (a style of Japanese textile-making).

Other speakers will include practitioners and experts in textiles and Japanese culture in relation to Western art.

Sea, Sand and St Ives

Linking to the St Ives Exhibition children can create a piece of environmental art inspired by the seaside as part of Children's Art Day. Use sand, shells, feathers and pebbles tomake a collage or sculpture.
